Tale of the Cat 23-2-1-2 (John Forbes) raced 2 yrs
Pulpit 6-4-1-0 (Frank Brothers) raced 1 yr
Grand Slam 15-4-5-2 (D. Wayne Lukas) raced 2 yrs
Awesome Again 12-9-0-2 (Patrick Byrne, David Hofmans) raced 2 yrs
(racing rcds. as shown here & verified w/ the APR)

The Tatling, 8yo gelding, currently 59-9-14-9 (per db here) I think he started racing at 2 - he's shown as stakes placed at 2, but no other stakes results are showing until 2002. I don't know who trains him. (Sorry my resources on racing abroad are extremely limited, at best.)

If you have purchased a Euro grass pedigreed TB your chances of making the most of its pedigree would be to place that TB with a Euro trainer that will train theat TB to the pedigree thats grass oriented.

If this TB was by Kris S. and you place it in the hands of a US trainer, that was a one dimension trainer of speed, your YB would be used up trying to sprint, and would be history before he ever get a chance to race on grass.

When In Rome you must do as the Romans do. Amen.

Kris S was a Roberto, and there have been lots of successful Roberto sire line descendants that have been trained by Americans and raced in this country and done well. Halo has many of the same characteristics as Roberto (except for his temperament), and his descendants have also raced successfully here.

Question: why does Roberto not get the respect as a sire of sires that I believe he is entitled to? He isn't even listed under the R's on Brisnet's sire line search.

If I could breed a good mare to any sire, I'd choose a Roberto line sire. but that's because my focus is not on American-style dirt track flat racing. Unfortunately Roberto line sires are way out of my price range.

I, too, love the Hail To Reasons (Halo, Roberto and Stop the Music). They're tough, classy horses - I just wish most didn't end up gelded or in Asia. I think it all boils down to fashion and ROI. Robertos tend to develop later.

(By the way, I love your signature - I think I could give you a run for your money as a thread killer. I keep wondering if there's some way I can make money doing it. )
