I'm pretty sure the birthdate on the Mt. Livermore foal is a typo as my mare was turned out with its dam when she got to KY and that was in Feb and neither mare had foaled. As for the prices on the Arundel horses I think most of them are coming out of the dissolving of a partnership and Arundel is not setting the prices, the owners are. Plus, as BJ said so eloquently value is in the eye of the beholder. My dad purchased a really well known quarter horse mare back in the '80's sight unseen (she'd been lighting up some futurities) when my dad saw her he about had a heart attack (hair coat turned inside out and just hideous). He immediately resold her for 4 times what he paid to another guy who was pleased as punch to have her despite her looks. Go figure! That mare turned out to be a hell of a producer.
