Hello Everyone,
I match my mare and stallion up into the Hypo-Mating
and below were the results I got in return. I read before
someone said if you can get 15 on speed and stamina you
can have an Elite Race Horse. Now my question is what is
the "Index" (the lower the number the better or higher the better)
and "Triads" ( what do these numbers mean?) I tried everything
to find out and it seems it gives limited information on them, but
nothing in detail. Also what is the "Conduit Mare Profile" composed
of?
Would this foal being produced be a GS-1 and 2 competitor
and how accurate is the Hypo-Mating system?
Conduit Mare Profile = 9-6-1-6-10 Speed = 15 Stamina = 16 Index = 0.93 Triads = 16-13-17
I would appreciate your response, thank you.

If only breeding Graded stakes competitors were as simple as combining the "right" numbers....
Bill Lathrop's Conduit Mare Profile is more a reflection of "distance aptitude," i.e., sprint (less than a mile) or intermediate (to 9 furlongs) or beyond 9 furlongs, than actual ability.

Hi, this strictly another method that can be "helpful" in selecting a mating. It justs points out the length the horse might be bred to go. Not a %100 method for breeding. Its like the Nick system. Just because a nick comes out A++ doesnt mean you are gonna have a Triple Crown winner. Just based on the history of crosses. You have to look at confirmation, your mares female family, and the nicks are also a help, but only a toll, just like the hypo matings.
