Le Prince

Does anyone have any information as to the ultimate fate of Le Prince, a 1987 gray son of Seattle Slew--Satania, by Ruritana? He ripped off an incredibly fast maiden performance in his only race, a 1990 MSW at Saratoga, and was never heard from again. I have no records that he was ever listed at stud anywhere in North America, so I'm guessing that he died of some injury or illness while still in training or else got exported someplace obscure. Any help appreciated!

I remember him - he was so well thought of that he was entered in the Gotham. He may have won that race, his maiden was so good. I thought I read awhile ago that he was exported to Sweden.....but I'm not sure. Too bad he was unsound, because he really had all the talent in the world.

I saw someone asking about this the other day, and I figured it's probably been talked about in this forum. Right I was. It's been over 6 years apparently so I figured maybe bumping this would expose it to new people. Anybody figured out what happened to him?

Le Prince's more successful (racing results that is) was "Underworld" and he is standign to WB mares in Denmark, from this site (and confirmed by Google-ing):

Comment -Le Prince might have been attractive to Swedish/Nordic equestrian breeders and competitors based on his damline's contribution through Underworld, his 1/2 brother's Scandinavian race performance and his Seattle Slew up top, but a quick search turned up no references in the eventing/sporthorse breeding world in Europe > only of a "Le Prince" stallion of 1958 birth from or stood in Ireland.
