How sad - but if he was suffering it is for the best.

 So very heartbreaking. I hope he joins my 7-year-old golden retriever named Sass, who died at age 7 of the same type hemangiosarcoma. I hope they know that we humans did everything we could to save them. Oh, how I loved my dog and still miss her every day.

How horrible... this has been the most depressing year. I'm still stunned/crushed to hear about Storm of Angels yesterday...

Just sucks... sucks, sucks, SUCKS!

Favorite Shakespeare quote about horses, a Fog tribute

Postby Denise » Mon Sep 18, 2006 4:19 pm

What a long night is this! I will not change my horse with any that treads but on four pasterns. Ça, ha! He bounds from the earth as if his entrails were hairs: le cheval volant, the Pegasus, qui a les narines de feu! When I bestride him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes.
Henry V (3.7.9)

Goodbye, Foggy.

Odds that this will happen: 1/9, minus pool.

I figure to match how I felt about this fella the only thing that would be appropriate to me is something like a G1 worth a bagillion dollars. If I can't have that, and not that I don't have a deep deep cavernous appreciation for the Golden Gate Fields homebase of Foggy and all the feelings there, couldn't we swing something a little more nationally exposed for fans (ducks flying tomatoes)? It's something I think people would want televised on ESPN or as undercard for a really important network race, not just for the gamblers or a blip on Wire to Wire and you know they won't do a special feature on tv unless it was on the same day as a major race somewhere. Maybe even do it at Churchill since he won a graded event there while struggling with this in silence? I don't mean to offend, I really don't. If it goes off at Golden Gate I'll be happy to cheer horses on.
