European Horses

Do European TB's get a lip tattoo just like they do in North America or how do they ID them?
How would I find out some information about a European horse named 'Master Nergal'?
Thank you!

A lot of them are microchipping now. www.racingpost.co.uk has the pedigree database available.
All men are equal on the turf - or under it.

All horses including TB's are microchipped here. Well they are supposed to be because it's the law. TB's get chipped when the papers are done for registration. This is done as foals. We don't get foal papers, we get passports where all meds are supposed to be filled in. Mostly you just get the vac's filled in and they have to be signed by the vet. My warmbloods are chipped as foals too.
