Just read the feature article him in the Bloodhorse. He sounds like a class act. Good for him!

Edited to add:

It would be great to see Baze in Sports Illustrated, nominated for Sportsman of the Year or just to highlight his career and accomplishments, past and impending. He's at the top of his sport, has a great and long history, and is "aged" by any athletic standards--but he's trucking on and plans to keep doing so from what it sounds like!

Baze has 7 mounts today at Bay Meadows. His mom lives in my neck of the woods. I'm sure she will be there in person at Bay Meadows. TVGn is on and I plan on watching history unfold.

Race 2 will begin in a few minutes. Baze is on Aloha Mangos Kitty in PP3, odds 3/5. It is interesting to note, Laffit rode and won on Aloha Mangos in the 90's. A dam of Aloha Mangos Kitty. This could be it.

Do you think he's stressing a bit over this? It's a pretty big deal... must be hard not to think about while you're getting ready to ride what might be "the" horse...

Laffit Pincay broke the Del Mar track record for the most wins on our horse Lady Cadet a few years back. That was exciting for us!
