Sad to report the day went by and there was no interest at all (no email/no phone call) for this mare.

Well I am not in the position to do anything to help this mare even if there were still time, but I must admit that my heart sunk when I saw this earlier today and noticed the time was 5:20, 20 minutes after her scheduled departure. How sad for her, thank you for trying Lisa.

Ahhh, Laurie, it's been crazy! Just not enough homes sometimes....

This one killed me, spent time earlier this week trying to find a home. Nothing wrong w/her, just the slight club foot from having a lousy farrier, otherwise, just a nice big mare....

I hope her end is as quick and expedient as can be....

I was sorry I clicked on the link to her picture. Her eyes looked right through me, it must have been a hundred times harder to see her in person. Just remember the starfish story and press on.

How sad! I wish I were geographically closer. The club foot can be corrected sometimes. I helped a Haflinger gelding that was rescued from a feedlot, by contributing to his surgery. The surgery was less than $1000. The results were amazing:

The post-op wasn't that bad, either. These two sisters that run Founder Rehab are nurses, so they are good with veterinary care, but it was mostly hand-walking. No one should be afraid of taking a club foot!

How very sad. It breaks my heart every time I see this. What a big beautiful girl.

I wonder if her past owner or trainer can be contacted? I think it's important for people to know what has happened to their horse so they may be a little more careful in the future.
