Chance to pick up this mare for breeding a Hunter Foal

What do you think? She's listed in the database, sticks just under 16.2, good temperment, etc. I don't recognize any of the horses in her pedigree, but of course that could be because most of them are not from the USA.

Her recently deceased dam-sire, Centaine, is currently about fourth on the Australian broodmare sires list for this season (start 1 August).

We have our own sire classifications down here. :)

Century is B/C, Better Boy I/S and Vain is a pure B. Not sure about the other sires.

Centaine was also the sire of many handy sprinters and milers so she may not be as slow as you think.

Agree Flight. Centaine left fast horses and is doing a great job as a broodmare sire. He left horses that were not heavy, in fact slight but it didn't stop them from running.

Breeding a Hunter horse for the show ring is a very "type" consideration. Because of this, I would choose a sire and dam who display strong hunter conformation, with one of them at least well placed in the hunter show world. This conformation is not only necessary for body type but for way of going and jumping style. If the mare isn't a prize winning hunter type, small chance the foal will be, IMHO, but perhaps others have hunter breeding commnents. Basic considerations would be a good neck set into the wither (not a low set, no TB "divit" at the withers) a round ascule when jumping, knees high and tight, excellent angles in the shoulder, pasterns, strong cannon, etc. I'm not up on all the details of hunter conformation considerations, but the point I am making is that this use for a horse needs to have conformation considered. Have you seen this mare? What does she look like, can you post a pic for us to comment on?
Where am I going and why am I in this handbasket!

unfortunately we aren't able to get papers on this mare, so she won't work for her. She is actually breeding for Hunter Under Saddle (I should of been more specific) and is looking at Sire's that have won both AQHA World in HUS and have offspring that are winning World in HUS.

It's just a shame that so many of the mares don't have their papers.
