Off course in Germany, especially at Röttgen Stud, Cologne, the famous "W"-Line. Look at "Stammtafeln" at

We had a thread about her some times ago.

Due to the ravishes of WWI & WWII much of her family has been wiped out, but a branch still exists in California, Australia, & Germany.

Who got ravished? She and all her female descendants?

The word you want is "ravages".

Sorry to be so snarky, but this one just struck me funny in a bizarre and perverted way.

vineyridge: Don't worry about being snarky.

Being ravished is to seize and carry away by force,
but ravaged is the act or practice of pillaging, destroying, or
devastating and seems much better suited.

Thanks for catching it.

I could kick myself for not buying a book on her while I was over in Budapest in 1999. Sure it was written in Hungarian, but I could have learned to read it!

Many of the broodmares by Röttgen Stud, Cologne, whose name begin with "W" are family-4o-members and trace back to Kincsem:

Saturday's winner of Doncaster's Racing Post Trophy, Camelot, traces back to Kincsem in direct maternal line!

Hello,
here is another small adding to the descents of Kincsem.

"Prix de Royallieu" (Arc Meeting), the thirdplaced Modeyra, 4 year old filly by Shamardal - Zahrat Dubai by Unfuwain (her dam won Nassau Stakes, Musidora Stakes, 3rdplaced English Oaks), her 3rd dam Walesiana is by Star Appeal, traces to Winnica and further back to Kincsem, the unbeaten filly, which won 54 Races all over Europe.

Regards, Bettina

Team Valor has a yearling filly that traces to Kincsem. Her name is LEGENDA AUREA (which means Golden Legend), and the second dam is the aforementioned Zahrat Dubai.

You can see her photo on the yearling roster page: http://www.teamvalor.com/roster/ylgs.htm

By the way, Barbaro06 .... I have that book that you mentioned. A friend in Hungary sent it as a gift. Wonderful photos, and especially loved the listing of her 54 races.

I may recreate it and post it somewhere. I had done this many years ago, but then lost the file.
