The last link has an article on the history of the track but it wasn't edited very well and skips about quite a bit.
I do like the pic that comes with the article of what appears to be the original area by the grandstand. I can't believe there were trees in the infield....and that a few match races were run there too. I know Laurel tried to get Man O' War and Sir Barton go hoof to hoof there back in the day....
