May have a job offer in Harpers Ferry WV

Postby Keith » Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:04 am

Hi,

I have to call back on a job in Harpers Ferry West Virginia. I grew up in Charles Town and would love to move back. I could work the post office during the day and the track at night where they have year round racing. I have also looked at a job in Ardmore Oklahoma but I know alot of people in West Virginia and that is where I grew up.

I love Harper's Ferry area. It is beautiful.

We're almost halfway between Penn National & Charles Town, just off I-81. I joke that's why we've got a yearling filly - PA-bred; WV-sired & definitely expected to be a sprinter. Easy drive to either track . . . if we've still got her when she's ready to run.

Best of luck moving back to the area.

I may be getting the job

Postby Keith » Wed Apr 30, 2008 2:43 pm

Hi,

I may be getting the job and it is a big decision. I like Maine alot but do not like the winters. I have been back there a couple of times when I was stationed in Norfolk while I was in the Navy. Charles Town has changed alot. Having a job with benefits is important but working with horses is in my blood especially when it comes to race horses. Where Charles Town races nights and year round it will work around my job at the post office which is Monday through Saturday between 6:00 am and and 4:30 pm. My supervisor at my present job is not happy. I have not got the job yet but it looks very good. My mom use to teach art at Harpers Ferry Junior High and she was also a horse trainer. I miss working there but when I was there all of my family was there and sometimes that makes a big difference. I ponied Kiss My Tan when he won the West Virginia Breeder's Classic which at that time was sponsered by Jim Beam. Kiss My Tan was one of Cortan's better runners. Breeding is expensive and I do have Thoroughbred mares one by Siphon and the other by El Prado.
