Does anyone know any of the twelve contestants on the horse racing

reality show to air next week....I was in the final cut, but knocked out

in the last fifty. Let me know if anyone needs the 8 scheduled airings ?

How'd you get to try out for that??? That would be a blast! I would love to do that! They probably don't do that type of thing in Indiana, though...

well if it is anything like that television show, LAX (which bears absolutely no resemblance to the real operation of an airport) it will be something we can all laugh about......

Hi All : I have to work on some other things tonight, but I can answer

questions tomorrow night or over the weekend.

I applied in May 2004, second round was aug 04, and final cut was oct 04.

Was told that I was in the final 50 and it seemed that questions they were

asking on the final cut was trying to get "young pretty people" involved ,

not true horse people.

Any way the first airing is Jan 10th 9-11 pm est on GSN Network via cable.

Seven 1 hr shows will air and the 8th is the Final race on Feb 21st at SA.

The final will be live and they are taking bets on the horse and contestant

you expect to win. IT SHOULD BE REAL COOL, IF CHRIS M. at Santa

Anita has planned it right !

I will have more time to discuss in next two days; Ha; It's funny I

emailed Bill of Wash. a personal email to help get me in....I do think a lot

of him; and was afraid to mention it on this board because it

would attract competition. Bill, did you even know what I was talking

about, or was that just a polite note " I can't help you that "

Later,

Charle

Skeenan:

Whats interesting about the A. Dream Derby is that in may 2004 they first

started out talking about making it " reality " from the horse owner and

claiming was to be done by six people using their own knowledge to

claim a horse. I was in that first group and made it through two cuts, but

in the end they started getting off on all kind of questions that had nothing

to do with horses.

Look at GSN.COM, go to buzz and click on forums...then type in american

dream derby and you will see the fifteen or twenty serious horse people,

including myself, that were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the way they made

final selections....Hope the show comes out well; it could be good for

introducing people to racing !

Tonights show......

Postby Laro » Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:42 pm

I'm looking forward to tonights show as one of my horses is one of the horses they chose for the show. They called and asked to buy him after he was in a race at Hollywood. He's a real nice horse and I'm looking forward to watching him tonight.............

Laro,

Can you tell us the name of your horse....or if not, at least hint at his pedigree?

Do you know what other horses they selected for the show? I'm going to watch at least the first episode and see if it's worth it. Hope so. Best case scenario would be a shot in the arm for horseracing, and getting more new owners involved.

I hope so, too... it would be good for the sport! And horse interest in general...

I did glance at the contestants' photos, and they looked like the "typical" group of contestants that seem to appear on these shows...

... although many seem to have horse experience, which kinda takes the fun out of watching them handle the horses...

Just kidding!!

Laro, I'll be looking for Archie's Dream... how cool!!

Well, however it turns out, I'm sure it will give us a lot to talk about tomorrow!

Congratulations Laro! Archie's Dream won the guts match today! I was excited when he got picked because I said "that's a "forum horse"! "

This show's got pluses and minuses...certainly entertaining mind games. I'd rather watch that than Survivor I must say.

The 2 furlong thing bugs me in that it's so sprint favoring...being a Derby obsessor like many of you, I adore a good classic distance horse and can't they at least manage 6-7 furlongs even if they don't wanna go 1 mi +?

I mean why not just use quarter horses for pete's sake? It's a glorified work for these horses and obviously why they can't be reused for a guts match. Can't work a horse like that that much. Oh well back to the point of the post, yay Archie's Dream :D I like Louis Quatorze I must say. I love that guest appearance by Kona Gold. "Pick the Breeders' Cup Sprint winner" was fun. Son of Java Gold indeed. Hehe
