Typo on Price?
Come across these from time to time. Stud fee says $500 but can bought for $20K?? Maybe a typo??
Non raced?

attributes listed as easy keeper, intelligent fast learner. In my opinion there seems to be alot lacking to validate that price tag if its for real. What's the family look like on this one?

If you're the owner, you can ask anything you want.
I like the damisire's name "Land of Believe"... kind of cute considering the asking price. He has some obscure bloodlines, maybe he'd be good for sport horse people?
With that price, if they don't have a pic of him jumping a pretty high fence, they should at least put up a confirmation shot.

I dont know anything about this stallion but Land Of Believe used to stand in PA at Land of Believe Farm. We had a daughter of his and she was drop dead gorgeous, big and covered ground when she moved even at a walk. Sadly we lost her way to young when some idiot fed her cow feed and she couldnt be saved

I don't get the big deal here. You can breed to this horse for $500.00 and or he can be bought for 20K. So what, if you don't like it, move on.Who ever put the notation "living in squaler " in the database should be ashamed of themselvs. The horse looks well cared for in the pictures. Not every one has a show place. God knows I think these people are nuts (the helmet thing) but it does look like they are trying to find homes for horses that are in need.Aside from all the horses looking very sad in the pictures they look well fed. They did have pictures on there web site of three adults sitting on horses (no helmets) with three infents on there laps. After my e-mails they took them down. For some reason they think if a person sings a release they are safe. Crazy, not true. They need to talk to a good lawyer. If they are negligent in some way all the paper work is out the window.Someone should have sent it to CPS. So what if they are getting horses for free. You know what the next step is if the free horses can't find a home. To bad the free horses don't come with feed, vet care, blacksmith etc. They have some for sale over on the B/S site.

Ouch! Just asked a simple question, why all the crap?
Martha
You wrote 'living in squalor'. Could you please tell me where in this discussion anyone characterized this horse as 'living in squalor'???
There is not one post in this discussion that made that characterization. Heck, I didn't even know the horse was at a rescue until I read the followup from others and checked the ad further and followed the link to the website! THat's great its a rescue.
As for the other horses pictured on the site they do look sad (as someone else wrote. I'm fortunate to have beautiful pastures [bluegrass state] The pastures there look more like rock gardens [my opinion of course]

I got an email about Cinnamon Win, exhorting that he was the perfect horse for my farm to buy for $10K. I responded that for $10K he should be in full race training and have broke his maiden. Otherwise, he was a $500 colt. I got something back to the effect that "he's not the horse for you" - it was defensive. But she sent me the unsolicited email originally.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
