A few years back I remember a big to-do about a Kentucky farm having some serious IRS (I think) issues.

It was pretty major, if I remember correctly.
A) I cannot remember which farm
B) What happened?

That was Classic Star that had acquired a lot of expensive mares for some funky partnerships they put together. I think all of their stock has since been sold at auction and the farm property itself was sold to John Sykes who used to own Cloverleaf in Florida.

As far as the fate of the individuals involved in Classic Star I think all of that is still in the courts.

David Plummer is the main guy, along with his son.

This guy started years ago in Utah, moved to California, and ended up in KY.

He left quite a trail.
