Looking for a mare in Washingon State or Oregon

Postby vineyridge » Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:33 am

Her name is Mia Rolls. She's a broodmare.

Could someone please find out who has her currently? And if she has produced any fillies?

She has two foals in the PQ database, and the 2002 one was bred by/registered by Carey and Sue Walt of Washington State.

Any idea how to contact them? Or if they still have her?

Also, has anyone heard of a California operation named Romajuby Thor, LLC?

Looks like a filly of hers sold through the WTBA 2004 summer sale - hip 62, and a colt in 2002. I'm not finding anything on her directly, immediately, but could swear I've seen her in a sale sometime in the past several years.... possibly I'm just remembering the name on her get, though.

BEst of luck in finding her.

Unfortunately Mia Rolls was one of the mares that the Walt's lost in the flood last winter. Very tragic. I will see if I can find any info on Triple Crown Slew and Mia's Mystery.

That IS tragic. For what I'm thinking about, she would have been the ideal broodmare. A filly of hers, as long as it has the "right" topside, might do as well. It's gotta be a filly though.

If you can find out anything about her female offspring, I'd really appreciate it.

There's a California mare who has been producing nicely, and one of hers could serve the same purpose. She's the one who has foals registered by the Romajuby Thor people.

God, that is so sad.... Those infernal floods had such widespread effect - right out to throwing cold water literally on the Winter Mixed sale, where a couple of yearlings were simply left - abandoned - after they didn't sell.

Condolences to the Walts, that's got to be awful.

Jennywho, I'm AdAblurr over on the COTH board - any news on Always Gold?

I haven't made it back over to the track. Hopefully soon. I will hunt Robbie down as soon as I get there.

The two female offspring of Mia Rolls did not perish in the flood, I'm not sure who owns them, but I will try to find out. Her 07 colt was lost unfortunately. The Walt's are super nice people, lost 9 out of their 10 horses in the December flooding. Such a tragedy.
