FORT ERIE CLOSING NEXT YEAR?

Postby MINNOW » Wed Oct 15, 2008 5:42 am

This is no threat this time, trainers are told to take everything home.
Can't leave usual stuff in tack room, like fridge, table ect,no stuff in green bins.
It came to my ears that NasCar was coming to the Fort, any body know anything about that?
And could it have anything to do with this. One thing for sure I will not support anything to do with nascar don't like it never have,
I guess it means extra work for us at the farm, getting our 5/8ths turf track ready for training next year.
All gave some,
some gave all

Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a damn! It is not cost effective anymore at the Fort and certainly no fun. As far as the NASCAR news, it looks very much like they are going to build a track a mile up the highway across from the new truckstop; better brush up on your Foxworthy there Minnow.

I had heard a couple of years ago that the Nascar track would be where the ICC golf course is. Anyone else know if that is correct?

By morning glorys I hope you mean the beautiful creeping flowers in front of my stalls. Well ,if I am good for a laugh I should be Dutrow's publicist. :lol. Madelyn,I will be anywhere that the condition book gives me a shot at winning now and again. At Fort Erie now one of the major problems is that the Woodbine stock that dislike the polytrack are hurrying down to the Fort and winning about 75% of the races by running for basically half of what they are really worth on the dirt. The incredible purse structure at Woodbine which is now being plundered by new faces from the south more and more, is forcing the standards higher and the Fort is a dumping ground .Whereas at one time a bottom claimer would win his share and everyone could survive the winter , well that is not the case right now and down here the economic climate is so tough that very few owners can reach in for the odd Woodbine horse to keep them honest. The times are a changing and those that do not or cannot adapt will not survive.
