This horse does not have the bone to carry so much mass.

GOOD LORD is that a mare? I see a foal behind her. I would say no horse has the bone to carry that.

My guess is that it is a Photoshop mutant.

It looks like an anti ad for horse steroids.

It is a Quarter horse mare. A halter horse.

I'm guessing she has a "double muscle" genetic defect, although I didn't know horses could get that.

I know dogs can:

Too Much!!!

Postby KMO_racing » Wed Oct 29, 2008 12:23 pm

I know that is a quarter horse, that is anything but normal. It can't be healthy for the horse or her offspring. That must be relative to repeted steroid use. More like a freak show!
Thanks,

Kathy

HYPP horses are predominantly halter bred, sure, but that horse is freakish. I suspect HYPP has nothing to do with her appearance. Either she's photoshopped, genetically goofed up (well, she is anyway if she's positive for HYPP) or the steroids have been flowing by the absolute gallon!

Impressive is recognized as the source of all HYPP.

Impressive was 3S X 4D X 5D to the QH foundation stallion Three Bras who was a Thoroughbred

Three Bars [TB] was 5S X 5D X 5D to Domino [TB]

Domino[TB] was 3S X 4D X 4D to Lexingtion.

If I calculated this correctly that gives Impressive 27 crosses to Lexington; i.e., there could be some HYPP floating around out there somewhere waiting to pop up in TBs.

HYPP is a simple autosomal dominant trait that originated as a random mutation in Impressive, and has nothing to do w/ his pedigree.
