KBIF Persecution?

Postby madelyn » Wed Dec 17, 2008 1:21 pm

I wonder how many farms this year had KBIF inspectors looking at mares ID's to ensure they are in KY?

Why would you call that persecution?

The way it was done. He only wanted to inspect the mares in foal to Rocking Trick, not the ones in foal to stallions standing at farms in Lex, and then he came twice, to id the same mares. Very strange. Very nosy, officious fellow. Wanted to know who ALL the weanlings were by.

Makes me want to move to Indiana. I wonder if the KBIF issues official ID to these guys? Should I have asked to see his badge?

Boy, I would absolutely have asked for ID. He could have been a freak! He should have volunteered at least a business card right off the bat.

A friend of mine had a KBIF inspector at her farm last week and she said he couldn't have been nicer. They ended up discussing all her mares, not just the ones he'd been sent to ID. She enjoyed his interest in her stock rather than seeing it as persecution.

Great - maybe it was a different guy.
