Thoroughbred Times website

Postby nferro9925 » Fri Jan 09, 2009 2:31 pm

Is anyone else getting tired of reading 2 week old stories on this website and finding out about "breaking" news stories days later??

They USED to be good, but now - I rarely read it anymore.

I used to check that website everyday, but since they changed it I don't hardly check it out at all. I think I have been to that website 2 or 3 times since they changed it

I hate it. I used to check it several times a day - now I check once every couple of days. It's been whittled down to next-to-nothing. I don't want to read a blog by Dan Kenny, I want to read news and stories. Whoever decided to change this web site should be shown the door.

Plus it looks uglier and uglier, IMHO.

What is people's favorite website for new news?

Many of the stories on their home page are headlines in two or three places. I really dislike it compared to the old one, and I hardly ever use it now. Big mistake on their part.

I usually use Bloodhorse.com, but I actually don't like their latest design either. They've interspersed their hard news with videos and blogs, and I feel distracted when I scroll through it. Simple is better, folks!

I agree with you, majxmom. I think there are far too many frivolous blogs and videos on the Blood-Horse web site. And I think the Thoroughbred Times web site doesn't get updated as often as it used to. Maybe the new philosophy over there is less is better.

I also don't like the blogs and alot of the other stuff all over the web.
It's very confusing when I want to READ a story.
I do like the race video area in case I read about a close race and want to see it - or if a favorite is running.

Alot of it I can do without though.
I miss the questions at the bottom of the page too. (lower lip put out pouting)

Love the DRF & Bloodhorse sites......great info ....great coverage.... I guess I'm one of the few that love the blogs.....never miss Crist or Haskin and value their opinions. The TT site used to be pretty solid as well.....but I agree....stale info...poor redesign.
And DOWN the stretch they come!

I really like some of the BH blogs, and have contributed to them. But sometimes it's not clear when you are clicking on a headline that it is a blog and not a journalistic article.

Thoroughbred Daily News - TDN.

TT had a forum a few years back - that was a good board. I heard they took it down because someone said not-so-nice things about a prominent trainer's wife. Too bad, because it was fun, informative and really the best reason to visit that site.

Yes, they seem to have missed the entire point of the internet media phenomenon. You know, that whole instant access to news, updated continuously. That sort of thing.

I hate the new TT site design. :x They are probably trying to make sure that people pay for the magazine by not putting the content on a free website. But still . . .

Sometimes I think all the print media have gone insane in their plans to deal with the internet. It's like they were all given a recipe for disaster that they are following down to the period on each sentence.
