There appears to be a problem with horse pedigree additions when selecting the dam (if only one dam with required name exists in database) - the process automatically defaults to "Create new dam...". For example, try adding [Carbon Footprint, Gelding, 2006, Green Tune, Salome's Attack]!

This is a recurring database glitch that's been going on for a while now - certain names just can't be added. Others can only be added if you try adding them without a dam.
I have not been able to find a way around the problem, but have added the names you mentioned to a list I'm keeping - if the site owner ever fixes the issue, I'll be sure they get added.

Oh and I thought I was the only one with this problem.
Put in the database the offspring of Another Moon with no problems at all, but I am not able to put in her 1992 born brown horse by South Gale, called Moon Hunter.
I have to create a new dam??

That's what the DB tells you, but it's lying.
The dam, as you know, already exists....and there's no way to edit the 'new dam' anyway, because the foal's pedigree was never added.
It is strange, and extremely frustrating. The site owner has been made aware of the problem, hopefully he is working on a solution.
Meanwhile, I think I'll start a sticky thread in the Technical forum, as a place folks can go when this issue crops up...that'll make it easier for me to keep track of the names.
