Duplessis Horse Feeder
Has anyone used the Duplessis hay feeders? If so, how do you like them, and how they do in high winds? (Think tornado alley...)
Thanks!
Thanks!

They are great, and save a lot of hay from being wasted. The horses don't fight around them, as they used to do around the tombstone type feeder I used to use.
I have just finished my second winter with two of them. My five girls are out 24/7 and in even the coldest of temps, never used more than two round bales (not hardcore) every six days. They always cleaned right up too, as the hay does not get spoiled by the elements or manure/urine.
Had one blow away this winter on a really windy day, but it was just about empty. I don't think it would have if it had been fuller.

Thanks for the input. It looks like a really good idea, but we've had a HEAVY 3 sided shed blow over (several times) and a big trampoline end up a few fields over, so the wind out here is nothing to be underestimated. It just seems that it might be into the next county during our first storm. Gotta love Indiana.
Anyway, I'm seriously considering giving it a try...

I'd think with some good anchors, this would work quite well.
Maybe something like this would work to hold it down?
