The premature death of any creature saddens me ,however as much as I try I simply cannot find any reason that flies exist except to sharpen other animals reflexes and be annoying. They are hardly an endangered species so to hell with the little bludgers!

Every creature has a reason to exist. Nature is perfect. Part of this perfect process is the regular killing of some species by other species, for food or to control competition. I suppose spiders should be scolded for spinning their "death webs", and horses should be reprimanded for swishing flies.

Yeah, the raison d'etre of any creature is to reproduce more of its own kind.

Personally, in addition to flies, I'll add fleas, mosquitoes, and ticks to the list of creatures undeserving of sympathy.

Since PETA advocates catch and release, I assume they wouldn't object to various insects, dangerous nuisance animals and various invasive species being released in their headquarters?
