Historic Windfields Farm to Disperse and Close

Just read this article.

What a record they had. It is sad that they will no longer be on the Canadian breeding scene. But I guess it was coming after selling part of the farm, cutting back stallions and no longer accepting outside mares. This was the last step...

Should be interesting to see what's left in their broodmare band.

They sold off most, if not all of their foundation families long ago. Those families were the reason they stayed relevant for so long, and once they sold them, the farm went quiet.

I have family that live near Windfields Farm, and it's been quite sad to see the downsizing of this farm.

It used to be in the middle of nowhere, and now the development around it is swallowing it up.

I wonder if they'll keep enough land to not loose the grave of ND.

It is supposed to be within land allotted as a park.
