Safest Gates for paddocks

Postby wgc517 » Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:33 am

I am looking at purchasing my gates and leaning towards the full mesh. Does anyone have experience with them or can suggest a safer alternative. I chose it based on it supposedly being safer than tube gates.

I've never worked with full mesh, just tubes or galvanized steel. If they seem safer for your peace of mind, go with them.

I have 1 paddock that is 440 fence (steel posts/rails). I found the gate tweaked last week. My very clever gelding must have put a leg through and leaned on it. I'd go for mesh if you have any clowns on your property.

We covered a panel gate with mesh (because we've got clowns, too).

Hotwire over the top solves the clowns for me :)
