Rescue dog transport

Postby btcountess » Mon Dec 14, 2009 11:02 pm

Hi, I am adopting a rescue dog that is in Memphis, TN and I live in NJ, close to Philly and Princeton. If anyone knows of any transports or anyone taking a trip from TN to the Philly or NYC area around the first of the year that could bring this sweet little girl, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi BT,

You might try pilotsnpaws.org. This is an organization that helps line up private pilots who have planes that sometimes if the dog is on their route will fly the dog to a meeting place. Just a thought. A very worthwhile organization of volunteers.

I think there's an e-list out there of volunteers for this very sort of thing -

While I do't have the e-list available, I think if you contact one of the breed rescue organizations, they can probably help.

I think pilotsandopaws and Animal Rescue Flights both try to stay within a 500 mile radius, but be sure to give them a try. I just flew a dog from Charlotte, NC to San Francisco on Delta for $261. He arrived in fine shape, and he even had to transfer.
