Even though I moved south to Virginia, I still keep an eye on Maryland racing. Slots should have gone to the tracks in the first place, but Magna was slow on the draw (to put it nicely) to get their bid in for a license. The whole slots issue in MD has become such a circus...who came up with the idea of putting them in a mall? Sheesh. I hope they can unscrew it in order for racing to survive. I know many people talk about MD racing basically going the way of the do-do, but I wouldn't want to see Laurel become a new subdivision with homes such as the "Sir Barton" and the "Secretariat" being sold.
