New Law in KY regarding horse boarding

Postby madelyn » Sat Dec 26, 2009 9:46 am

This is welcome relief to boarding farms.. however those who board horses in KY should read this carefully. No more filing agister's liens, lawsuits, waiting a year because of deadbeat boarders..

I already used it when the law became effective (July) . Its a great law but very few people know about it. I cant believe Bloodhorse or Thoroughbred Times didnt write an article on it

I got a call from a woman in Ky. on New Yrs. day who said she'd just bought a mare I used to own. Apparently the woman I sold to defaulted on her board at Waterford Farm. She also owes stud free for Marquetry. I believe she said 5 mares and 3 weanlings were headed for a sheriff's auction. I don't know when the Marquetry filly was born, but I'm guessing that's when she quit paying. So probably right at the time this law became effective. Kudos to Waterford, because she said the mares are in great shape and utd on vaccines and hoof care.
