RIP Preaching Sister
It's been the saddest day ever for us today.
Our Special Rate filly that was not quite 12 months old had to be put down today.
I have never had to put a horse down, and I hope to never experience this again.

I am so sorry, we lost a perfecty healthy 5yo mare recently due to the action of a stupid vet. I know how you feel, if a horse lived a good life and it is time for him/her to go to the big stud in the sky, I suppose you have peace, but in this case.....I'm so sorry for you.
The more I get to know people, the more I love animals.

,
I can't say thanks enough to all of you for your kind words!
Charley, and I love all of our horses, but I'd be a liar to say she wasn't extra special to us.
We called her Peggy, she had something wrong with her from birth, and we knew that she'd never make it to the track or anything like that, but we couldn't have asked for a great horse to be around. We had planned to have her for her lifetime, and we did!
She was the first one at the gate everyday, and she was never going to fuss about being touched by those BIG humans!
For a horse that we only had for 11 months, she was the bomb, and it still hurts, but I know it'll eventually get easier.
I will miss rubbing on her bushy forehead, and that whinny of hers was unmistakable.
Most of you don't know us personally, but you feel the loss profoundly, and again I thank you for your kind words!

gators, I'm sad for you and I don't have words to express my pain for you, if you are in this business you will have deep lowes and high highs. Take care my friend. I am late replying because I don't get here as often as I use to.

Try it you will like it.

Sorry, nothing I can say can make her come back, but know that my brother and I have been there before and have felt the pain you are feeling and know how hard it is to forget a special horse you see everyday. Whether it is a race horse or a paddock friend.
too weird to live...too rare to die
