Uwana Prop - a real war horse

I had the pleasure of helping this gelding retire in 2003. His race record:
111 Starts: 21 - 20 - 15, $215,000+. He was known as "Paw Paw", since he was one of the older horses at Fairmount Park. Broke his maiden at Churchill Downs with Pat Day up. Retired sound.

Now, at age 18, he is barrel racing with a young girl and loves his job.

How's that for soundness and longevity?

(I need to check his real race record the data above is from PQ and I think he had more wins)

112 starts, 22-20-15 & $221,838, per equibase.

I remember him from Fairmount! He's certainly a spectacular horse; I'm thrilled to hear he has such a great new home and is enjoying "retirement."

Hmmm... Not surprising he's a War Horse. I compared UWANA PROP'S pedigree with the legendary JOHN HENRY. Quite a number of similar
blood lines on both sides... ie: DOUBLE JAY, PRINCEQUILLO, INTENT, BLUE LARKSPUR.
