Today, those of us who frequent the backside of the Finger Lakes Race Track mourn the loss of trainer Amy Murray. Amy was taken from us, suddenly, and all to soon, this week.
She wasn't a famous trainer, but she was one of those caring, dedicated people that we wish all trainers could be. Her horses thrived under her care. Her friends did also.
I shall always carry two memories, especially, of Amy. One was the fact that she was one of the first to support the FLTAP Trainer's Listings. Not only did she list her horses with us from the very beginning, but, if people came to see a horse of her's, and it didn't suit, she would take time from her busy day to take that person around to see other horses on the listings that might be right.
The other thing that I will always remember is her joyous laugh. It rang out loud and clear over the backside, and, you could not help be feel happier, hearing it.
So, goodbye Amy. I will miss you.
