Columbus Racetrack

Postby Shannon » Mon May 24, 2010 9:18 pm

can anyone tell mea nything about this track? There seems to be limited info on the net...
Equibase doesn't list it...where would trainers go to train before this meet opened to train?...I am trying to find a horse that ran there last year (previous post regarding Northern Pilot) or his trainer William Conyers.

Beulah Park is the name of the track. It's physically in Grove City Ohio not Columbus.

Thistledown and River Downs are the 2 other race tracks in Ohio.

Shannon -

A "Plan B" suggestion here. Have you already tried inputting Northern Pilot to a Virtual Stable (this is a 'free' service you can set up w/ (I think) Equibase?; could be BRISnet that sends notices of any entry, race result, (including if scratched, claimed) and/or 'official' work to your personal e-mail). With race results there's a link in most cases to a video of the race.

That way you can see if he's getting in any 'official' works? I just got notice of a workout of a horse I hadn't heard any word of in over a year and of another horse I'd been following that I feared had 'slipped through the cracks' after dropping in competitiveness in SoCal only to get notice of her offical work at Hastings in Alberta - so it's another way to get updates on horses you're interested in, follow their careers.

Columbus Races are part of the Nebraska circuit. They run in late summer. Circuit includes Fonner and Lincoln.

Try this web site: www.horseracing.state.ne.us or if this doesn't work, try googling nebraska horseracing.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips...
I have entered him into my virtual stable as someone had erased all my horses last year, but haven't seen his name come up.
Would Columbus be considered a "B" track or bush track? Are the races and works even counted on equibase?

And just an FYI, Hastings is in vancouver BC, Northlands is in Edmonton AB.

Thanks again for the info!

Conyers is currently running horses at Prairie Meadows racetrack in Iowa. I'd contact the racing office there, let them know you're trying to track down a horse in his stable, and see if they'll put you in touch with him.
