So Where Are The Women?

Postby Patuxet » Tue May 25, 2010 4:05 pm

Twenty-eight men -- and no women -- are seeking three-year terms on the 13-member Breeders’ Cup board of members and trustees.

Talk about a good old boys club!

Yea, where are the women? There are plenty of women in the top tiers of the business that can do the job.

So what makes you eligible to be on the board? Can anyone apply?

Maybe the ladies prefer to hang out with the horses than sit on some stuffy board?

If I remember correctly I was given a chance to nominate a canidate..

I have no idea how they screen the people that are nominated and select the ones tthat will be on the ballet but I would not think gender would be a criteria.

If that's the case, I suspect the reason no women are on the ballet is none were nominated by people like you and me.
