Here's a link to the official website with the trailer for the Secretariat movie-

I admit it. I had prepared myself to be disappointed about this movie, but after watching the trailer, it looks like it might have some potential. (I just remind myself that the story and the characters have been "Disney-ized" and get past it.)
I love the casting of Fred Thompson as Bull Hancock!
(I updated the original link to the trailer and directed it to Disney's official website. It also has the TV spot on there too.)

Real potential I think! I wonder how they'll handle the Belmont scene given that everyone in the business knows that 'tremendous machine' video by heart. A fictionalization is probably a let down.
They ought to do a big screen viewing at Churchill, Pimlico and Belmont when it's released with some other promo stuff.

I think it is great they've finally come out with a Secretariat movie. It's more imagination than truth, but that's how they do it in the movies. Lucien actually got the trainer job based on his son's recommendation as he was going to take over training for the Phipps.
On a lighter side, it is apparent that SECRETARIAT was surrounded by at least two of the worst dress men the world has ever known: Lucien Laurien and Eddie Sweat.

I thought the same thing about Malkovich and Secretariat, but after seeing the trailer, I'm warming up to Malkovich. I already like some of his lines -
"I don't like babysitting half-ton animals who are as stubborn as their owners are."
"He lays against the back of the starting gate like he's in the Carribbean."

Well time to get your eyes tested because on my screen the horses in the trailer looked anything but dull.
I am really looking forward to this film from seeing the trailer - it looks miles better than Seabiscuit.
According to Disney, Secretariat was born bay. Check out the video at about 1 minute.
