Goldikova vs Zenyatta
Can anyone imagine if these two ladies ever locked horns? 20 grade/group 1 wins between them. That's better than any 3 or 4 males. I know goldikova is a miler, but who is the better horse? Goldikova has raced the boys more and beaten them twice in the BC. Zenyatta has made a mockery of the girls here in the states (except one) and has beaten the best in the BC classic. I would love the international appeal of these two meeting.
NO!! What is the point? To start an argument?
Best American Race Mare-Zenyatta
Best American Dirt Filly- Rachel Alexandra
Best Turf Miler in the WORLD: Goldikova.
Who has beaten the most males regardless of distance and surface: Goldikova.
I love Goldikova.
(Love Zenyatta and Rachel too)
Can't we just leave it alone an root for all against the boys?

Honestly, I would LOVE to see Zenyetta on the turf! She's totally bred for it, being by Street Cry, out of a Kris S mare!
Goldie and Z going 1 1/16 miles on the Woodbine E.P. Taylor turf course - and throw RA into the mix, too - now THAT would be a horse race!!!

Not necessarily. Goldikova wone against the boys at 1 1/8m last month.

About Zenyatta and turf; I so agree!!! She is probably a true Turf horse but has never tried it. Can you imagine her in the Arc? Oh, my!! That would be mindblowing...She is so bred for it.

Other than the classic at 10f, zenyattas g1 races were 8.5 and 9 furlongs. So I think put goldi and z at woodbine at 8.5f and we are golden. But I don't think we will see goldi here for anything other than the BC. If the mosses for Jess Jackson and had z, they would take her to Europe to race her. Seeing how a RA and z race might not happen
hi diomed
Thats's a no brainer
; but (as far as I'm concerned) you're shortchanging Z with that accolade. There's no doubt (to my way of thinking) that Zenyatta is by far the Best American Racehorse...period; and that includes all fillies...all mares...all colts...all horses...all geldings...all ridglings...all anything
.
Yes I can. Is it possible...YES; is it probable...likely NOT.
That said...I'd expect that Team Zenyatta will consider any/every Big-time possibility
.
Best.
Respectfully

Appalling TV coverage by the BBC yesterday, claiming Goldikova the greatest mare of all time.
Zenyatta has done what no other mare has done the BC classic.
Plus when Goldikova met Zarkava she was put in her place.
Goldikova is racing and beating the same old horses a bit like Zenyatta was in CA until they have started to ship her around.
Zenyatta is much better than Goldikova, imho and a bit better than Rachel.

He talked about Curlin at the Arc--I didn't actually see him go through.
I guess I see things a little differently about how Jackson is bold and the Mosses timid with their respective horses especially this year. If you added up the actual mileage travelled, Zenyatta (California to Oaklawn to California) has Rachel (Louisiana to Churchill) beat and Zenyatta certainly has faced better horses doing more interesting things in 2010. Giving 9 pounds to St Trinians is no small feat and showed some intestinal fortitude. Racing history is full of great horses managed so that they would avoid that kind of spread if at all possible and that doesn't even take into account the seductive pull of keeping an unbeaten streak alive.
The so called fans who talk about Zenyatta as though she is Peppers Pride are being stubbornly idiotic IMO. In that streak, I saw a Breeders Cup Classic; a multiple defeat of another mare who won the Ladies Classic Life is Sweet; defeats of Ginger Punch, Cocoa Beach, Hystericalady, Music Note, Romance is Diane and Tough Tiz's Sis. Grade 1 winners all and all but two are millionaires so somewhere outside of Zenyatta's shadow they must have shown some talent.
I know that the introduction of synthetics has muddled things but for people who insist that you have to travel to be considered great, I suggest that they look at Personal Ensign's race record again. I see exactly 2 races outside of New York state and somehow I don't remember the travel thing being an issue.
