Car pool to Penn National?

Postby Blue feather » Tue Feb 01, 2011 12:35 pm

I will soon be working on the backside at Penn National race track in the morning and I live near Cashtown just outside of Gettysburg. Trying to save some gas money so if anyone out there works at the track and comes from anywhere near Gettysburg and is interested in carpooling, IM me.

Maybe I should edit , that does leave the backdoor wide open. No pun intended.

Just curious as to what you do.

You work in the maintenance dept? gate crew? groom for a trainer? assistant trainer?

I worked on the backside and on the farm entering horses for a trainer, looking for horses to claim, mucking stalls, thats pretty much all i did. Never did groom but would tack up horses to gallop or work, give them baths, put them on the walking wheel.

Owned for 30 years, bred for nearly 10 , trained my own for over 2 years. Transitioned from a passion to an occupation.

I wish i owned and trained all my horses. Maybe one day i can afford to train them and quit my day job but i love going to the barn every day.
