Why would they allow another horse named Ruffian?!!

Postby erhrdt3 » Sat Apr 30, 2011 12:10 pm

I noticed just now that in 2008 there is a B F on pedinq. named RUFFIAN!!!!!

I would post the link but the computer still messing up on me, perhaps someone could help me out here.

Now, I saw behind Ruffian's name in the Jockey Club registry book of names a (P) for a permanent name as they do for the legendary horses.

How did this happen??? Surely this is a major mistake! Or someone really made a big boo-boo at the Jockey Club and let that name go through again. There is not much info on the horses page, but the name is the same.

I know there is another thread about the inq. not keeping up, but this is the Jockey Club messing up IMHO.

Anyone??
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......

Hi TJ!

Yea, I never thought that someone would actually take the time to put in fake info for an imaginary horse to be honest! Or unless they have a horse they named that, but it's not a TB, or not registered, etc.

I wish there was a way to make sure that the horses are actually a Jockey Club registered horse before putting them on there, I think it would stop alot of confusion.

Thanks for the help!! :)

Hi erhrdt,
It is possible this is a foreign bred horse as the mare is from Ireland. But I believe they honor the name's of champion's....but I'm not sure? TJ

No such horse registered with JC. A joke.
