He'll get days unless he can come up with a good story to justify like he was attempting to get the horse to move etc. That said those jock boots are very soft.

Video doesnt show what happen before, horses actions. Doesnt look like he did anything to "hurt the horse"

I didnt know their boots were soft and it wouldnt hurt the horse. I guess it looks worse than it actually is.

What it looked like was the horse was putting all the weight on his or her left pushing on the starting gate itself , ( or putting all of it weight on it). Which the jockey couldn't get on the horse. And since no one was there to move the animal it looks like the jock was trying to move the horse over to get on. Notice that the left side didn't have any room for him to put his foot in the iron.

That was just plain poor judgement and will probably get him some days on the beach. That's why they have assistant starters to steady and position the horse safely in the gate.

His method is not one that will catch on anytime soon. :roll:

Nothing the assisitant starter could have done, the filly was laying all her weight on the side of the gate. Asst starter only has her head and is straddling the gate while standing a couple inches of pontoon on either side. Apparently, Tommy was off becasue she popped a winger in there just before laying on the gate. Doesn't "look good", but I really don't see what choice he had.

I dont see what everyone is crying about. He tapped on the horses backside with his boot twice to get the horse to straighten up.

looked like something i have seen many times through the years..not a big deal...horse was leaning and he needed to get on.

They could have backed her out, but probably didn't think it was that big of a deal.

She had just pitched a major winger in the gate before she threw herself on the side. Probably why they didn't want to back her out and try to reload. No, it really shouldn;t have been a big deal. I am more upset with Arlington for being idiots and showing that view of the gates to John Q. Clueless Public than I am with the way the horsemen involved handled things.
