How do i change the name of a horse on the database?

i put the horse in and named it incorrectly how do i go in and fix it.

You can't - you'll need to delete the incorrect entry and do it over again.

Be sure you delete any additional info (color, breeder, notes, etc) from the "bad" entry before zapping it, as deleting the horse does not remove that info from the database.

Ok i deleted the horse and tried to enter the new name but it wont let me because there is a 1999 mare witht he same name. My name got approved today so what do i do.

The db should enter the name as [Name]2 (or whatever the number of the next empty slot for that name is). If you'll post here or pm me with the name and pedigree I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

To elaborate on PZ's answer, when you get the screen telling you that there is already a horse (or horses) by that name, there should be a button at the bottom that says "I don't see the horse I'm adding". Click that, and you *should* be able to proceed.
