Everyone in the horse world learns something new everyday no matter how long they have been in the business....BUT there are something's one just knows can't be true.
In measuring a horse it goes by hands, everyone should know this....so please tell me I am wrong. I have always know that after .3 it goes to the next height....for example.....16.3 then 17hh. Am I right or an I wrong and after 16.3 there is 16.4 then 16.5 then 16.6 then 16.7 etc.
I have yet to see a tape or stick show anything past a .3
I am saying this because I have this woman telling me her horses are 16.7hh and 16.5hh, and her vet told her so and told her if you want an "accurate measurement" that is how it is done.
It is driving me in sane because I have never heard of such foolishness.....so if I am wrong in this I would be happy for others to say they have heard this before and it is a known practice. Then I can loose my uncontrolled desire to call this vet and tell him he is an idiot. I can be the idiot for a while and say I learned something new.
Please tell me I am wrong
