Where Would You Look?

Postby photofinish » Wed Jun 19, 2013 5:37 pm

I am seriously considering stopping training a public stable. I made a bad (in hindsight, of course) move to another state 6 years ago and, while I have a few very good clients here now, I am increasingly disgusted with running against "needles and numbers." I also have a young daughter and the following the track circuit lifestyle needs to end. I have previously, successfully managed a large breeding farm and would like to get back into that end of the business.
I have, of course, checked with BloodHorse classifieds. Where would be other good places to look for job openings? I am not sure I could deal with the show horse industry at this point in my life and would prefer to stay with TBs. Any ideas?

TDN has run ads in the past and sometimes even Twitter and Craigslist. I'm not sure that the best jobs are advertised - more like word of mouth.

You are probably right about that, I have a few feelers out back in KY, but would really more comfortable in a "satellite" state - I have witnessed first hand the viper-pit that Lexington can be :-/. I have no contacts at all in the states I would be most interested in (TX, OK, WA, or even CA) - go figure...
