Besides the Kentucky Derby, what are the best races to see around the world? :?:

I think the Breeders Cup races are generally the best day of racing anywhere.

Probably any race that entries include a horse one owns or has a partiality for are great races for one to watch.

I think those things are subjective in many ways.

Epsom Derby always a good day out on 1st saturday in June- Prix de L'arc de Triomphe is wonderful but cold mid- october... Breeders Cup <all races> - I'm a filly gal myself and love watching the Oaks (FR, GB, IRE, USA/KY) and of course the 1000 Guineas! If I have time <which is rare> I come in to the house switch on At the Races and just watch any race all races intrigue me even the sellers!

Slew83, I am really certain that many people attend the Melbourne Cup, especially those that live in Australia....but to respond to your post, I know no one who has been to that particular race.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

I think everybody has its favorites. I particually love watch Royal Ascot and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting. But this is also because of the splendid Brittish commentator group. They make a great show of it and you don't want to miss a minute of it.

In melbourne from mid october to early november the good racing takes place. Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate Victoria Derby and Melboune Cup are all eagerly awaited race days down here. living not far from the tracks and over the years have been to all but not every year.
Great place to be Melbourne during horse racing's "spring carnival".
