Hmmm, unfashionable pedigreed GRANNIES FEATHER (gr/r. 1994) is the dam of two stakes winner out of two foals.
Her foals are
FUSAICHI ROCK STAR
WILD FIT

Jorge, see my posts under Racing..."It's A Wonder...Actually It's Two."
Wild Fit won the Dubutante at Del Mar yesterday and was described as "possibly the best 2YO filly in the country" (She had to be to beat River's Prayer <grumble>) Her full sib ran last in the King's Bishop on the same day. (Another victim of "The FOG" hehe)
And there's yet a third, younger, full sibling, as well. Grannies Feather's pedigree may be unfashionable, but it's definitely interesting.
Kind of like Lost In The Fog...and Afleet Alex...and Bellamy Road...
(If these are examples of the kind of athlete an unfashionable pedigree produces, give me an unfashionable one any day!)

So many pedigrees...so little time. (C)
This pedigree is very interesting and powerful. Unfashionable doesn't mean untalented, but rather rare. I know that Gran Zar (Mex), who was imported in utero , was a great champion and Triple Crown winner in Mexico. Afterwards, he served as a sire in the US with pretty good results. That helped a lot Spectacular Bid, who is one of the all-gray-sires appearing on its third removed. Its nice to see atypical pedigreed talented equines.
As per Fusaichi Rock Star, he certainly is better than his last performance.

pedigree
Anybody look at the mare line profile or conduit profile on this mare and her progeny? Lots of good mare lines in there. Also inbred mare(to Bold Ruler) to inbred stallion(to Hyperion and Dante) crossed on each other. Anybody who knows more than I do have a comment? Mary Syers

An Unfashionable pedigree only if you believe the experts-do some research and you will find there is more here than meets the eye.
At Full Feather - a 2 year old stakes winner of 3 races in 16 starts earning $141,766 - he was bred by Tom Gentry who has been no slouch of a breeder in the thoroughbred industry. He was sired by the great racehorse Spectacular Bid who was unfortunately never accepted by the Kentucky Hardboots but who did muster to sire a mere 40 plus stakes winners.AFF was out of a daughter of the great broodmare sire Secretariat(Storm Cat,A P Indy,Gone West) .His dam was a stakes winner of $84,980 and was Grade 1 Stakes Placed in The Hollywood Oaks.AFF's 2nd dam produced 5 SW from 7 foals(One Grade 1 SW in Tisab,One Grade 2 SW in Nicosia and she is also the dam of decent regional sire John Alden).Oh, and the 2nd dam was also by the useable broodmare sire Nashua.
The 1st dam of Granny was an honest hard knocker who hit the board 25 times in 48 starts and earned $146,000 and she was sired by 2 time Horse Of The Year Gran Zar(Raja Baba)-even tho' this was in Mexico he was also Mexico's Triple Crown Winner in 1978 and I'm not positive but I believe that hasn't happened since. Now I'll admit the rest of the female family is light till you get back to about the 5th dam but you do find the broodmare sires Bull Dog and Man O' War in the 6th and 7th generations. It is interesting to note that Grannies Feather has 18.75% Bold Ruler blood thru her 4th generation.
This is just my opinion but I would definitely be looking for some of these At Full Feather daughters down Texas way as I believe this horses pedigree is much better than 1st impressions look.

Hope this case doesn't end up like paternal siblings PISTOLS AND ROSES and TURNBACKTHEALARM. Both seemed destined for greatness ---I mean, for their sire--- but something happened along the way that that lineage was turned off. What happened?
Turnback The Alarm was sent to Japan. She has produced at least one stakes horse over there, but I don't have her complete record handy.

I had to look it up, but Grannies Feather was a familiar name and indeed she went through the ring in 2007 in foal to Bernardini (Keeneland November) and was sent out unsold (RNA $475,000) - and I was hanging around looking at mares in foal to new stallions. I remember thinking that while I didn't inspect that particular mare she must have been one he!! of a fine physical specimen to have that kind of reserve with that kind of pedigree.
She is noted in the comments on the PQ pedigree as having died in 2009, so I guess those three foals are all she wrote.
