Would someone from England, Australia or New Zealand be kind enough to explain the following betting terms for me.
1. Placepot
2. Quadpot
3. Tricast
4. Straight Forecast
5. Each Way
6. CSF. (I assume this one is an abbrev.)
There are more terms I have seen and not understood, but can't think of them at the moment.
Thank you for your assistance in explaining these terms.
Regards, Shergar

Terms
In Australia we use the following terms
(1) Place Pool: The total amount of money invested by gambers on place bets for a race. The place pool is where you get a dvidend (return) for 1st 2nd or 3rd placing.
(2) Quadrella (or Quaddie) Pool. Same as the place pool but for a "quaddie" which is picking 4 winners in a row.
(3) Trifecta Pool. Same as above for Trifecta bets which is picking 1st 2nd and 3rd in a race in the exact order of placing.
(4) Forecast. Is as above for picking 1st and 2nd in order.
(5) Each way. Is a win and place bet. That is $5 each way means you have $5 for the win ticket and $5 for the place ticket.

A placepot is a bet where you pick a horse in each race to hit the board and at the end of the bet, usually 5 races you may end up with a decent return if you are successful and it can be fun too! A straight forecast is basically an exactor, a dual forecast is an exactor box < two horses either way 1st and 2nd>. Each way is what they call across the board in Britain and Australia as you get the same return should you finish 2nd or 3rd as each way is win and place but the place return covers 2nd and 3rd, it is just two bets whereas across the board is three bets.
