That is a dosage profile and according to dosage theorists the horse has an index of 2.55. These adherents would say he could go a long distance but in reality it means nothing. Horses with indices over 4.00 have won the Derby 3 times in the last 8 years. In this new era of racing durability and stamina are no longer part of the breed as it once was. High dosage indices do not deter a horse from winning the roses or the Belmont.

I would like to add that to me a good indicator that a horse will either be a distance or speed horse and if it will have stamina....is more based on his conformation....bone and body structure. And what did his parents, siblings and grandparents prefer.....of course you will have your exceptions. A good trainer will not just look at a horses pedigree and say well he has a turf pedigree....so I will never try him on dirt no matter how many times he loses and visa versa. Or he looks like a quarter horse so he must be all speed. I even heard a trainer once say (paraphrased of course) I will never buy a horse unless I know what his dosage was and liked it.
I've only had one horse that never won or placed. He had only 6 starts on dirt showed some speed in the begining but would fade....they NEVER tried him on turf and gave up.

I try not to listen to the voices in my head.
But sometimes they have such good ideas
