Big Brown in Monmouth Stakes

Postby oliverstoned » Thu Aug 21, 2008 1:55 pm

Looks like BB has settled on a new $500,000 race at Monmouth (1 1/8th on the turf) created just for him. Now wouldn't it be funny if Curlin takes the Woodward and comes back 2 weeks later to whup BB at Monmouth to finally shut Dutrows piehole. Not going to happen but it would be funny.

Hah! yeah that be pretty funny too but I wouldn't like to see it. I do hope they can attract some decent competion for the race though.

Would like to see Curlin skip the Woodward and run in this since it's 3yo and up.

Well it's on grass and ungraded so yeah, Curlin's gonna pass and can't say as I blame him for skipping. He runs in actual races, not fake ones created for Big Brown.

I would not be surprised at all, if he wins that one.

His pedigree is having a lot turf influenze and the distance won,t be an issue.

This is much more in his favor, than racing on them dirt.
