Lost Jockey Silks
I was wondering if anyone has happened to see my silks anywhere? Had one set left at Charles Town, when we tried to get them they are now lost. They had my name inside of them, etc. The silks are grey with black sleeves, black star on back with grey 'S'. Any help would be appreciated. I think they were mistaken for silks that are black with white sleeves, grey diamond on front/back with white 'S'. So if anyone would happen to know whos those are, then maybe they have mine. Thanks so much in advance for your help. I know it is a shot in the dark, but I would really like to have them back.
In CA, the silks get shipped to the next tracks automatically. I know the Charles Town meet is year-round, but what about calling Mountaineer or some logical nearby place to see if it got shipped there? Once I found my silks in Los Al after the Fresno meet.

I agree with ageecee. Lost silks are part of the business. It's doubtful someone did it deliberately - it's easy to pick up the wrong colors. It's worth checking at the other tracks in the state, but I think fewer tracks are sending the colors on now than they used to.
Nobody can keep helmet covers - that's why most people don't bother with them.

or you can give a reasonable "tip" to the person in charge of silks to "watch over" your silks during the year.....you would be surprised.never had a set lost yet in 26 yrs.

So easy for you to say. You have an extra couple hundred bucks for silks?

The meet doesn't close at CT. And the trainer hadn't planned on leaving in a rush like he did, but I had to have major back surgery. The horses getting taken care of was a little more important than him remembering to pick up silks. Had planned on using them again to run up there. Besides, they were checked out the day after my horse ran.
I just asked a simple question, it didn't have to be such a big fuss. I just would have liked to have had those silks back for certain reasons. Gee whiz.....
Reenci - At CT everyone gets "tips" already, nothing would surprise me there.
