Her name was Dead Aim and she was hip #680 in the Keeneland January sale. She's a three year old filly, unraced, and not in foal and she sold for 25K.

By the way. Dinny Phipps has several stellar broodmare familes, and though he keeps many of the offspring, they are offered at sales occasionally. We bought a yearling filly last September out of Colonial Review who's out of Dance Review, another mare he's had great success with over the years.

It's odd for Phipps to sell broodies especially from Blitey who was so important to continueing there success. Do you remember what the Silver dep filly brought? I am also looking at Mutakdim mares to bred to a Storm Cat sons, if you see anything give a shout thx... I actually saw a nice Phipps mare that I was surpised to see Jeffeff or Jeff em? owned. The horse won 1st out in a MSW at Aqu last week.
Easy something was her name?

The filly you're thinking of is Contrition, a daughter of Pulpit out of Easy Now a half-sister to Easy Goer. The other filly you're thinking of is Easy Double, a daughter of Unbridled Jet out of Double Song by Alydeed. That makes her a granddaughter of Easy Goer on the female line.

Thx Nessa why do you think they sold a 1/2 to Easy Goer? I actually didn't bet on the horse because I figured if Phipps sold her they must not have thought enough of her to keep her...stupid me lol.. The horse won easy and looked good doing it.. Thx again

Well she hasn't produced anything of note (not that they should blame her as they have been picking her mates) and they have a full sister to her in Taking It Easy, so culling her doesn't deplete this line in the band. I don't know what direction exactly they're going in because I think that quite a few of their younger mares are daughters of Danzig, so there is plenty of his blood around. Maybe there'll be more culling going on this year too.

You know the Phipps' have culled mares that have gone on to produce good horses, Kona Gold's dam is one they got rid of, so maybe taking a chance on Loping Along or one of daughters wouldn't be too farfetched.

Contrition ran a stinker today at Aqueduct, but someone said there was a bit of a track bias. It was only her second career start so she bears watching as to how she runs next out.
