Interactif-Strategy/No decision until entry day

TP said there is no rush to make a decision whether to enter Interactif in the Ky Derby until tomorrow's entry day. Stated decision depends on whether or not owners want to run. Is this a strategic move designed to keep a competitor out or what?? Entries are taken too far out to insure a wet track for Interactif.

I imagine they're just waiting to see who else drops out of the field in the next 24 hours.

It's not a strategic move to keep out a competitor, since it won't, unless they actually make the entry.

Pletcher wasn't looking to run him in the Derby, he wanted to save him for the grass. The owners, Wertheimer brothers, are the ones that want to wait and see. They have earned the right coming from a racing family. They owned and bred Halfbridled, Kotashaan (who was horse of the year in 1993) among many other good horses they campaigned here and in their homeland...France. TJ

So, if there is another defection before the draw in the next 1/2 hour, Pleasant Prince gets in. Boy, he's gotta be tired from running Saturday.
