good thoughts please

Postby Pie™ » Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:11 pm

my 3YO filly by Personal Flag got her gate card last week, has posted 7 works since 5/8, the last 4 in a row every week; and I talked to her trainer today- he's ready to get her tattooed, then possibly two more works at 5 - 6 f - and then he'd like to put her in as long as she keeps working as well as she has been. She has her "head in the game" and has come along as quite a sensible girl, from the flighty 2YO that she was a year ago. I'm unbelievably nervous....and the next month I'm sure will drag as we wait for her to continue to work well and then find the right conditions to put her in her first race.

So, good thoughts for this filly please over the next month. She's been in training since 12/18, first on the farm, and then with the trainer at the track since 3/20.

Thanks

Good luck with a smooth transition to a racehorse career for your filly. Just as they think they have the new race routine figured out, the jockey doesn't get off afterwards and they have to go stand with a bunch of people and somebody points a camera at them.

The more attention to detail you give these TB the more rewards you will receive.

Many TB that are nervous dont get that attention and end up on the wrong side of the tracks and never are competive, because there handlers dont take the time to do so.

The barns that win the most races have the best help as this goes together to make it happen.

Good luck with your filly and may she have the courage and will to go on to greater heights.

Pie, all the best to you and your filly as she begins her career. Please be sure to post upcoming races in the Stable Watch thread so the "roomies" know when she's running.

Did I miss your filly's name? I'd like to add her to my virtual stable.

YOU GOT IT...I told some friends over the weekend, I will either call everyone I know on her debut and go wtth 100 people, or I will go alone and not tell a soul. I haven't decided yet. I'm just terrified that I'm so close now and something dreadful will happen. I just keep it in Gods hands.

Pie, all my best wishes, and I,am hoping that all the people involved,
keep their nerves down, and relaxed. The more relaxed everyone, the better things will go , especially with these flying fillies.
Give them time, to get used in another enviroment. The best would be if possible take the filly to a raceday, without running. Just showing everything.
I,ve learned this lesson by my own filly

HA! I feel silly... I thought her name was "You Got It"... obviously, when I looked her up, NOT her!
